Technology is Essential for Smart Agriculture
A team of scientists from Boğaziçi University is working on a project aimed to produce climate simulations for Turkey for the years 2030 and 2050, and study the transformation of agricultural cultivation areas. We talked with Professor Gökhan Özertan of Boğaziçi University, Department of Economics, whose research involves the use of technology in agriculture and the impact of technology on productivity.

Boğaziçi University Represents Turkey in Project Expected to Provide a Breakthrough in ALS Research: MinE
Boğaziçi University’s Neurodegeneration Research Laboratory (NDAL) is representing Turkey in Project MinE, which has brought together teams from 16 countries aiming to discover the causes of ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), a disease related to loss of motor neuron cells, and to develop effective treatments. Project MinE is the first, biggest, and most comprehensive research study on ALS conducted internationally, after the Human Genome Project initiated in the 1990s to identify and map human DNA. The project is expected to provide a revolutionary breakthrough in ALS research and determine the molecular causes of the disease.
