21 scientist from Boğaziçi University are included in the list of the most influential scientist in the world
The latest list of the world's most influential scientists, compiled annually by scientists at Elsevier and Stanford University, was recently released by Elsevier, a Netherlands-based publishing company specialising in scientific, technical and medical content. The rankings were compiled in two categories: "career-long impact" and "annual impact."
21 Boğaziçi University scientists were included in the “Annual Impact” category created for 2022, and 21 scientists were included in the “Career-Long Impact” list. Thus, Boğaziçi University scientists have succeeded in being among the most active scientists in the world, represented in 2% of the research fields.
The updated version of the World's 2% Most Influential Scientists list, compiled each year by researchers at Stanford University, was published on October 10, 2022, by Elsevier, a science publisher based in the Netherlands.
In the study titled September 2022 data-update for "Updated science-wide author databases of standardised citation indicators," prepared by Dr. John P.A. Ioannidis, professor at Stanford University, and his team, a database of the world's most influential scientists was created based on citation counts, h-index values, hm-index, a composite indicator based on citations to articles in various author positions (c-score). This study used Scopus data provided by Elsevier through ICSR Lab. Scientists are classified by 22 science fields and 176 subfields.
