Protocol on academic cooperation between Boğaziçi University and Peking University

Boğaziçi University and Peking University, one of the world's leading universities, have signed a protocol for an academic exchange program. According to the agreement, the two universities will promote academic cooperation through exchange programs for students and researchers.

Boğaziçi University, which recently launched an Asian education initiative, and Peking University, which is ranked 14th in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2024, have signed a protocol on academic exchange and cooperation with the participation of the Rector of Boğaziçi University, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Naci İnci, and the Rector of Peking University, Prof. Dr. Gong Qihuang.


According to the protocol, both institutions will establish exchange programs and cooperation based on mutual respect, cooperation and friendship. The universities will promote the exchange of information on education, development and scientific research. Under the agreement, the exchange of academics and students for research and study purposes will be promoted in accordance with the universities' regulations, and efforts will be made to develop cooperation and exchanges.

"WE HAVE LAUNCHED AN EDUCATION INITIATIVE FOR ASIA"

The Rector of Boğaziçi University, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Naci İnci, emphasised in his speech at the signing ceremony that Boğaziçi University attaches great importance to cooperation with both the East and the West. Rector Prof. Dr. İnci pointed out that the university has recently launched a new initiative for leading higher education institutions in Asia, especially in Azerbaijan, and said the following about academic cooperation:

"While our collaboration with universities and research centers in the West continues to grow, we have recently launched a new initiative for the leading universities in Asia. There are many universities in China that surpass the leading universities in Europe and the US in terms of potential, human resources, academic performance and R&D activities, and the number of these institutions is increasing every day. In this regard, I am confident that the signing of such a three-year protocol focusing on academic exchanges and cooperation with Peking University will make a great contribution not only to our universities but also to scientific exchanges between the two countries."

Prof. Dr. Gong Qihuang, Rector of Peking University, emphasized the important contribution that the Protocol on Academic Cooperation with Boğaziçi University, one of the leading universities in Turkey, will make to the students and scholars of the two institutions.
