Boğaziçi University Achieves Second Place in National Wrestling Championship

Boğaziçi Üniversitesi has achieved a notable success in intercollegiate sports competitions. Representing the university at the Ünilig Wrestling Türkiye Championship, Lütfi Furkan Şimşek secured second place in the Greco-Roman 97 kg category, earning a silver medal.

The championship, hosted by Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy Üniversitesi, brought together 609 athletes from 63 universities across Türkiye. The event was marked by a high level of competition, with athletes demonstrating strong performances across multiple weight classes and styles.

Competing on behalf of Boğaziçi University, Şimşek advanced to the finals with a consistent and determined performance throughout the tournament. Following the final match, he was awarded second place in his category. This achievement highlights both the athlete’s dedication and the university’s continued strength in sports.

Additionally, Boğaziçi University student Buğra Kerim Şahin represented the university in the freestyle 92 kg category, contributing to the institution’s presence at the championship.
