Boğaziçi University has entered the world's top 500 universities for the first time in its history, rising two bands in the Times Higher Education (THE) 2026 World University Rankings.

According to the results announced by Times Higher Education (THE), one of the world's most prestigious higher education ranking organizations, Boğaziçi University has moved up two bands from its previous position in the 601–800 range to the 401–500 range.
This achievement once again confirms the global upward trajectory of our university, which achieved its highest-ever ranking of 371st in the QS World University Rankings 2026 in recent months.


RESEARCH-FOCUESED GROWTH MODEL GAINS STRENGHT
According to THE 2026 results, Boğaziçi University showed a significant increase in the “Research Environment” and “Research Quality” categories, which account for 59% of the total score. High scores were particularly noted in the sub-components of “Research Quality”: Research Excellence (78), Research Strength (75.1), and Research Impact (78). These data reveal that Boğaziçi University's capacity for scientific production with high impact value on an international scale is steadily increasing.

This success achieved by Boğaziçi University stems not only from improvements in research performance but also from strong performance in the areas of “Education,” “International Visibility,” and “Industry.”

Boğaziçi University has achieved significant success in the “Research Environment” category, rising from 502nd to 338th place. The increase in collaborations and project partnerships established with industry has elevated us to 156th place globally in the “Industry” category.
