Boğaziçi University Receives Two Awards from TTGV

Boğaziçi University has received two awards from the Technology Development Foundation of Türkiye (TTGV) in the 2025 TTGV Awards, recognizing its pioneering work in sustainability and advanced technology research. Assoc. Prof. Damla Eroğlu Pala and İklimBU – Boğaziçi University Center for Climate Change and Policy Studies were both honored for their contributions.

Boğaziçi University Receives Two Awards from TTGV

At the TTGV Day and Awards Ceremony held at Ankara’s Bilkent Hotel, Boğaziçi University was presented with two major awards.
Assoc. Prof. Damla Eroğlu Pala from the Department of Chemical Engineering received the Dr. Akın Çakmakcı Emerging Researcher Award, while İklimBU was honored with the Mehmet Şuhubi Leading Civil Initiative Award.

During the ceremony, TTGV Chair of the Board Değerhan Usluel highlighted the foundation’s leading role in Türkiye’s technology ecosystem and emphasized the growing importance of initiatives focused on next-generation sustainable technologies.

Assoc. Prof. Damla Eroğlu Pala was recognized for her pioneering research on “Lithium–Sulfur Batteries and Next-Generation Battery Technologies.” Her work aims to advance the development of environmentally friendly and high-efficiency solutions in the field of energy storage.

In the same event, İklimBU received the Mehmet Şuhubi Leading Civil Initiative Award for its interdisciplinary research on climate change and policy impacts. Bringing together expertise from climate science, economics, energy, and public policy, İklimBU has established itself as a leading center in Türkiye for developing solution-oriented strategies to address climate change.

The event also featured a panel discussion titled “The Future of Climate Technologies,” where experts from academia, industry, and entrepreneurship shared their perspectives on the future of sustainable innovation.

With these two awards, Boğaziçi University once again reaffirmed its leadership in sustainability, energy technologies, and climate policy research, continuing to make significant contributions both nationally and globally.
