Engineers Hub: Solve at Boğaziçi University

Organized by the Boğaziçi University Career Center, Engineers Hub: Solve brought together engineering enthusiasts, technology-focused students, and leading industry professionals over two days on December 9–10. The event was held online on the first day and continued with an in-person program at the historic Albert Long Hall on the second day. With its rich content and high level of participation, the event attracted significant attention.

Engineers Hub: Solve at Boğaziçi University

Organized by the Boğaziçi University Career Center, Engineers Hub: Solve brought together engineering enthusiasts, tech savvy students, and leading industry professionals over two days on December 9–10. The event was held online on the first day and continued with an in-person session at the historic Albert Long Hall on the second day. With its rich content and high level of participation, the event attracted significant attention.

Designed to offer young engineering candidates an experience focused on the future of the industry, Engineers Hub: Solve introduced participants to companies’ next-generation technologies, real-world projects, and comprehensive insights into various engineering disciplines. Students had the opportunity to engage directly with company representatives while gaining valuable information to help shape their future career paths.

The first session was moderated by Adem Dönmez, Coordinator of the Boğaziçi University Career Center, and featured Prof. Dr. Şefik Şuayb Arslan, Director of the Boğaziçi University Institute of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. The session included an in-depth discussion on a the historical development of engineering and the opportunities it offers today.

In the second session, Dr. Vural Özbudak, Senior Researcher and Project Manager at TÜBİTAK BİLGEM, took the stage. He was followed Cansu Bozat from TÜBİTAK BİLGEM’s Human Resources team, who shared important insights on career opportunities and talent programs for young engineers. This session drew particular interest from participants aiming to pursue careers in technology and R&D.

The following session featured Birol Şen, Senior Director of Global Customers Sales and Supply Chain at Şişecam, who delivered an informative presentation covering global supply chain management and ongoing transformations in the industry.

The fourth session hosted experts from Borçelik. The session began with a presentation by Şehnaz Aydın, Human Resources Business Partner Unit Manager, and continued with contributions from Serkan Ürkmez, Borçelik Management Systems Manager. Participants gained firsthand insight into how sustainable engineering processes are managed within a large-scale industrial organization.

In the fifth session, Ozan Karataş, Project Manager at Rönesans Industry Facilities, a subsidiary of Rönesans Holding, shared comprehensive perspectives on managing large-scale projects, on-site implementation processes, and the role of engineers in such environments.The sixth session was moderated by Dr. Cem Duran, General Manager of Boğaziçi Technopark, and featured Ahmet Onur Durahim, Co-CEO of Principa. This session attracted strong interest from students interested in technology entrepreneurship and innovation-driven projects.

The seventh and final session was moderated by Olcay Aksoy, CEO of YoutSide, and included a presentation by Besimcan Yalçın, Sales Manager at CFN Kimya. The session highlighted dynamic career paths in chemistry, production, and sales, bringing the event to a close.
