Rethinking International Law After Gaza Conference Held at Boğaziçi University on August 3-4
Boğaziçi University Faculty of Law, also known as the Boğaziçi Law School, organized the conference “Rethinking International Law After Gaza” on August 3-4. The conference brought together more than 100 lawyers from different countries to discuss the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and how it has been handled by international legal mechanisms.

Minister Al Attiyah Discusses The Middle East At Boğaziçi Lectures
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Qatar, Dr. Khalid Bin Mohamed Al Attiyah, and the Chairman of the Defense Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye and Boğaziçi Fellow in Global Studies, Dr. Hulusi Akar, were guests at the Boğaziçi Lectures. During the lecture titled “Global and Regional Challenges in the Middle East",” Minister Al Attiyah stated: “Our partnership with Türkiye goes far beyond ordinary cooperation; it is a strategic partnership. As Qatar, we will continue to support Türkiye in all areas, such as energy and trade.”

Boğaziçi University Has Risen 96 Places To 418th In The QS World University Rankings 2025
Boğaziçi University has risen to 418th in the "QS World University Rankings 2025," published by the London-based university ranking organization QS. This places Boğaziçi University back in the top 500 universities worldwide for the first time in a decade and makes it the "most improved" higher education institution in Europe.

The AX-3 Crew Met With Bogazici University Members
The first Turkish astronaut, Alper Gezeravcı, as well as Michael López-Alegría, Walter Villadei and Marcus Wandt, who are part of the Axiom-3 mission, met with members from Bogazici University. The crew was welcomed by the Rector of Bogazici University, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Naci İnci, and shared their experiences and feelings about the mission.

Prof. Dr. Nurcan Meral Özel Became The New Director of KOERI
Prof. Dr. Nurcan Meral Özel, a member of the Faculty of Geophysics, has been appointed Director of the Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute (KOERI) at Boğaziçi University. Prof. Dr. Özel, who is known for her international involvement in the field of earth sciences and was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun by the Japanese government this year, has led her team in the successful establishment of numerous new terrestrial and submarine monitoring stations from Antarctica to the Equator within the framework of the United Nations (UN).

The Istanbul Transparency Center Was Opened at Boğaziçi University
Boğaziçi University and the cybersecurity company Kaspersky opened the Istanbul Transparency Center in cooperation. Kaspersky will conduct practical training seminars at the center's laboratory. The opening of the Istanbul Transparency Center took place at the 12th Boğaziçi Cyber Security Summit with the participation of Boğaziçi University Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Naci İnci, Department Head of Management Information Systems Prof. Dr. Bilgin Metin and Kaspersky founder and CEO Eugene Kaspersky.

Boğaziçi University Is Ranked Among The Top 300 Universities In The World In 3 Out Of 5 Broad Faculty Areas
Boğaziçi University has improved its performance in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2024 compared to previous years. Accordingly, Boğaziçi University is ranked in the top 300 in the world in 3 out of 5 broad faculty areas, in the top 150 in 2 narrow subject areas, in the top 250 in 8 narrow subject areas, and in the top 400 in 14 narrow subject areas.

Boğaziçi University Has Rised Up Almost 300 Places In The QS Sustainability 2024 Ranking
Boğaziçi University was ranked 335th in the QS World Universities Sustainability Rankings 2024, an improvement of nearly 300 places compared to the previous year. Boğaziçi University was ranked 59th in Asia and third in Turkey. The University of Toronto from Canada took first place in the ranking, which analyzes the current performance of universities in social and environmental sustainability.

Boğaziçi University and Peking University, one of the world's leading universities, have signed a protocol for an academic exchange program. According to the agreement, the two universities will promote academic cooperation through exchange programs for students and researchers.

Boğaziçi University has moved from the 801-1000 band to the 601-800 band in the "World University Rankings 2024" prepared by the London-based Times Higher Education (THE). Boğaziçi University achieved the highest score in the evaluation criteria for university-industry collaboration.
